Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week following his standout performance in the semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid.
The England international played the full 90 minutes as Arsenal secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Spanish side at the Emirates Stadium, booking their place in the final. Despite not registering a goal or an assist, Rice’s commanding midfield display was instrumental in neutralizing Atletico’s threat and helping his team advance.
In the official voting, Rice edged out Paris Saint-Germain defender Willian Pacho. The Ecuadorian also played the entire semi-final for PSG in their 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich, but failed to make a decisive impact on the scoreboard.
The stage is now set for a thrilling final on May 30 in Budapest, Hungary, where Arsenal will face PSG in the 2025/26 Champions League showpiece.
