The Detroit Pistons head into Game 4 of their Eastern Conference second-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a cloud of injury doubt hanging over two rotation players. Monday night’s matchup at Rocket Arena in Cleveland carries heightened tension as the Pistons try to extend their 2-1 series lead.
Kevin Huerter and Caris LeVert have both been listed as questionable for the contest, which could prove pivotal in determining whether the Cavaliers regain momentum. Game 4 is set for Monday, May 11, at 8:00 PM ET, and Cleveland arrives with a clean injury report.
Huerter is battling a left adductor strain. He has only appeared in four playoff games this postseason, struggling to find his rhythm while averaging 1.5 points on 28.6% shooting in limited minutes. LeVert, meanwhile, is dealing with a right heel contusion. Though he has played in nine postseason games, his contributions have been sparse—3.0 points in 12.8 minutes per game, thinning Detroit’s backcourt depth.
The injury concerns place extra weight on primary playmaker Cade Cunningham, who has shouldered a heavy offensive load throughout the playoffs. He averages 30.2 points and 7.7 assists per game, often facing intensified defensive pressure when the Pistons’ spacing falters.
Inside the paint, Detroit leans on Jalen Duren and veteran forward Tobias Harris, both of whom have been instrumental in battling Cleveland’s physical frontcourt on the glass.
The Cavaliers head into Game 4 at full strength. Donovan Mitchell leads the scoring at 25.1 points per game, with frontcourt support from Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, who dominate the paint on both ends. James Harden’s veteran playmaking has stabilized Cleveland’s offense, his 6.0 assists per game complementing Mitchell’s shot creation and Mobley’s inside efficiency.
The series has shifted quickly. Detroit jumped to a 2-0 lead with home wins of 111-101 and 107-97, before Cleveland answered with a 116-109 victory in Game 3 to cut the deficit.
