The New York Knicks dismantled the Philadelphia 76ers 144-114 on Sunday, sweeping the Eastern Conference second-round series in dominant fashion.
With the victory, the Knicks punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference finals, tying an NBA postseason record with 25 three-pointers made in the game. OG Anunoby led the charge with 25 points, while Jalen Brunson added 22. Josh Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns each contributed 17 points in yet another lopsided playoff win for New York.
The Knicks’ average margin of victory through two rounds stands at 19.4 points per game, the largest by any team since the playoffs expanded to 16 teams in 1984. This marks the second straight season New York has reached the conference finals; last year, they lost to Indiana after making it that far for the first time in 25 years.
In a surprising move, the franchise recently fired head coach Tom Thibodeau and replaced him with Mike Brown, who has now guided the team to seven consecutive playoff wins, including the final three games of the first-round series against Atlanta.
Knicks fans once again made their presence felt on the road, snapping up thousands of tickets at the 76ers’ arena. In Game 4, their energy may have been louder than ever. New York’s three-point barrage intensified throughout the game—Brunson knocked down two more in the period (six total) as the Knicks went 11-for-13 from deep in one quarter, tying the NBA mark for most makes in a single period.
By halftime, the Knicks had already sunk 18 three-pointers, scoring 54 points from beyond the arc—compared to the 76ers’ total of 57 points in the half. Taking an 81-57 lead into the locker room, New York powered toward its first best-of-seven series sweep since the 1999 Eastern Conference semifinals against Atlanta. This season, the Knicks have scored 80 or more points in the first half twice in five road playoff games.
For Philadelphia, the series ends after a 3-1 comeback victory over Boston in the first round. Joel Embiid closed another injury-plagued season with 24 points, and Tyrese Maxey added 17. The 76ers have not advanced past the second round since 2001.
New York now advances to the Eastern Conference finals for the second consecutive year and awaits the winner of the Cleveland–Detroit series.
