

Jacob Misiorowski delivered a dominant performance, striking out 11 batters over six scoreless innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-0 victory over the New York Yankees in Friday’s series opener at American Family Field.
The hard-throwing right-hander (3-2) allowed just two singles and two walks in a 95-pitch outing, with all 10 of his first-inning pitches exceeding 102 mph. In his previous start, the 24-year-old pitched 5 1/3 hitless innings before leaving with a hamstring cramp.
Brewers rookie Shane Drohan earned his first career save by tossing three hitless innings. Brandon Lockridge contributed two hits and two RBIs before exiting in the fourth inning with a deep cut to his right knee, leaving the field on a cart.
Jose Caballero had two of the Yankees’ three hits. New York had won six of its previous seven games. The Brewers broke through in the second inning, scoring four runs as their first five batters reached against Max Fried (4-2).
Cubs 7, Rangers 1
Seiya Suzuki hit a two-run homer and Michael Busch added a three-run double as Chicago defeated Texas in Arlington for its 10th straight win. Ian Happ drove in a run with a first-inning single to extend his on-base streak to 29 games. Cubs starter Ben Brown threw four no-hit innings, and Javier Assad (3-1) allowed one hit over 3 2/3 scoreless frames. The Rangers managed just two hits, losing for the eighth time in 11 games. Kumar Rocker (1-4) gave up three runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings.
Dodgers 3, Braves 1
Shohei Ohtani delivered a go-ahead single in the fifth inning, and Freddie Freeman homered against his former team in the sixth as Los Angeles rallied past visiting Atlanta. The homer off Braves ace Chris Sale was Freeman’s first in 26 games. The Dodgers opened a seven-game homestand after a 3-3 road trip. Los Angeles starter Emmet Sheehan allowed one run on six hits over 4 2/3 innings. Austin Riley had an RBI single for Atlanta, which fell to 4-3 on a nine-game road trip. Sale (6-2) gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits in seven innings, only the second time this year he allowed more than one run in an outing.
