French basketball star Victor Wembanyama, the towering center for the San Antonio Spurs, will not face any extra disciplinary action from the NBA following his ejection for striking an opponent in the face with an elbow, a source close to the league told AFP on Monday.
As is standard with Flagrant 2 fouls, the league reviewed the incident and decided against imposing any additional penalties, meaning Wembanyama remains eligible to play in the playoffs.
The 4-foot-11 rookie, who scored just 4 points in the game, was ejected with 8 minutes and 39 seconds remaining in the second quarter. At the time of the foul, Minnesota Timberwolves led 36-34, eventually winning the contest 114-109.
