The final took place in Pesaro, Italy. Diogo Santos scored the opening goal in the 4th minute but later received a red card. Palma forward Alisson scored an own goal in the 36th minute to seal the victory for Sporting.

In the third-place match, Spain’s Cartagena defeated France’s Étoile 5-4 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in regulation time.

This marks Sporting’s third Champions League title in club history, having previously won in 2019 and 2021. Palma, on the other hand, saw their streak of three consecutive final victories come to an end. The tournament record holder remains Spain’s Inter with five wins.

The 30-year-old Russian joined Sporting in January 2026. Prior to that, he played for Benfica from 2020 to 2025, winning one Portuguese league title and one cup. Chishkala previously represented the club Gazprom-Ugra, and in his career has won the 2015/16 UEFA Cup, four Russian Cup titles, and two Russian league championships. He was also a silver medalist for the Russian national team at the 2016 World Cup and the 2022 European Championship.
