Jose Mourinho is reportedly in final negotiations to return as Real Madrid’s next manager, according to BBC.
Since taking over at Portuguese side Benfica last September on a two-year contract, Mourinho has led the club and told the media yesterday that he was not yet ready to discuss his future.
Meanwhile, Alvaro Arbeloa, who was appointed Real Madrid manager in January, is expected to leave at the end of the season, with Mourinho emerging as the leading candidate to replace him. Reports indicate that Mourinho’s contract includes a release clause of €3 million (approximately 500 million yen), which can be triggered within 10 days after Benfica’s final match of the season.
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. With current dressing-room tensions at Madrid, he is seen as the ideal figure to restore order and authority.
